Light and Space 2006 @ Cake
Cake, Santa Monica, debuts the first in an ongoing series of site-specific art installations and happenings with “Light and Space 2006” curated by Joanna Burke. The show is a 21st-century take on the quintessential Southern California (deep West Side) of the 60s and 70s, which explored the temporary and the ephemeral in perception , reflection, light and illusion. Media include neon, acrylic, resin ,glass and video. Inspirations include sunlight, ocean, moonlight, noir city and finishes and materials of surf and custom car culture.
